Golf Master Class for ACCA Ukraine Members
On 11th of July, 2008 ACCA Members in Ukraine visited Kiev Golf Centre, where Master Class took place.
It was a great opportunity to end the working week in a pleasant atmosphere of a golf club where beginners were offered an opportunity to master the art of hitting the ball.
The event started with cocktails and was followed by a short speech, during which Oleksandr Cherinko was presented with a certificate of Top Affiliate for December 2007 examination session. Oleksandr attained the highest mark by a student in Ukraine in Papers P1 to P7 of the ACCA examinations, with a total mark of 359. The corresponding certificate and gift was presented to Oleksandr by Grant Thornton Ukraine Managing Partner Vitaly Kazakov (FCCA). The prizewinner was also congratulated in a speech by Andriy Droniuk (FCCA), representing another sponsor of the event – FARLEP Invest.
Afterwards Russell Aden, the golf instructor at Kiev Golf Centre, taught the basics of golf, such as golfer’s posture, club grip and hitting techniques. Russell acknowledged that beginners achieved great results on their first day.
The event participants also had an opportunity to compete in a golf mini-contest, after they had practiced a little. Andriy Molyboga (ACCA) won the competition.
