John Nicholas
John spent much of his early career in technology focused, international manufacturing and service companies including ten years at Fisons and eight years at Williams Holdings. He gained extensive experience of acquisitions, disposals and business reorganisation.
He became Group Finance director of Kidde plc on its demerger from Williams Holdings and, four years later, defended an unsolicited takeover approach from United Technologies Inc. A substantial increase in the offer price led to a recommended bid. Following the acquisition John left Kidde and joined Tate & Lyle as Group Finance Director, leaving in 2008 to pursue a portfolio career.
John is now a non executive director and Audit Committee Chairman at Ceres Power Holdings plc, an AIM listed alternative energy company; Hunting plc, a FTSE 250 Oil services company; Mondi DLC a FTSE 250 and JSE 40 international paper and packaging company, dual listed in London and Johannesburg and Rotork plc a FTSE 250 international valve actuation company.
