Centenary launched in Johannesburg
ACCA South Africa marked the launch of ACCA's centenary year with a lunchtime reception on 1 December. ACCA in Johannesburg joined eight other cities around the world to view the live webcast of the global launch function in Hong Kong.
Over eighty ACCA members and stakeholders in the South African accountancy profession attended the event.
Simon Burdett, ACCA's Head of Corporate Development in Southern Africa, says, "ACCA is very pleased with the support that we have received from within our own ranks as well as from the wider profession on the launch of our centenary year. As a developing country, opportunities abound in South Africa for ACCA and its members to show that they care and demonstrate their commitment to the centenary theme of responsibility in their daily actions and relationships. We look forward to a year filled with events highlighting this most relevant theme."
Being the first ACCA structure established outside the UK, way back in 1913, ACCA South Africa is pleased to showcase ACCA's achievements over the last ten years since ACCA was re-established in South Africa in 1994.
The centenary year also marks ten years of ACCA operations since its re-establishment in South Africa.
