Over 70 ACCA stakeholders (members and corporates) in South Africa finally had the opportunity to meet and interact with Allen Blewitt, ACCA's CEO, during a breakfast meeting held at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Rosebank on the 15th March. Companies represented at the meeting included, amongst others, the Office of the Auditor General, South African Revenue Services, Courier Freight Group, Anglo Platinum, FASSET, Ernest and Young, National Treasury and BDFM.

In his speech, Allen highlighted the following issues:

• ACCA growth in 2004
• ACCA member involvement
• ACCA commitment in the developing world
• Challenges facing ACCA in IFRS, CSR, ethics and rebuilding trust in the profession
