ACCA South Africa reaches out to High School masses
Over 100 high schools (over 140 000 learners attended) benefited from the Education Faire run by the SABC in four provinces, of which ACCA was part. The provinces covered were Gauteng, Northern Province, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Province.
By engaging in these promotions, ACCA hopes to help school leavers make informed decisions about their future careers. South Africa has a great need for accounting professionals, therefore making it necessary to develop students at a young age, to fill the gap in a few years to come.
The CAT qualification proved to be a favourite with students, who mostly come from a disadvantaged background. Without maths and a matric exemption, there was no hope for them to become professional accountants. CAT with its open entry, revived their hopes, since they can eventually qualify as Chartered Certified Accountants.
