ACCA joins hands with ABASA

The Association of Black Accountants of South Africa, recently invited ACCA to address its student chapter at St George's Hotel, Centurion, Pretoria. Over 500 students from all the Gauteng tertiary institutions attended the event. These tertiary institutions included Vaal University of Technology, Tshwane University Technology and the new Johannesburg University.

ABASA holds this event annually in Gauteng Province. The aim of the event is to expose accounting students to different professional accounting bodies in South Africa, so that they know what to follow on completion of their national diplomas and degrees.

By partnering with other stakeholders in the accountancy field, ACCA hopes to ensure success in fighting the lack of skilled professionals in accounting and finance.
