ACCA International Internship Programme (Second intake)
Introduction
The ACCA International Internship Programme (AIIP) was developed in response to Singapore's call to build the accounting sector to prepare global ready graduates who could contribute to the talent pool. The programme provides for international students studying in Singapore, a perfect solution for gaining experience in the practical application of the skills while they complete the final papers in the ACCA examinations.
It is opened to outstanding international ACCA students who have completed the Fundamentals Level of the ACCA Qualification, and the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting degree (awarded by Oxford Brookes University in partnership with ACCA). Students holding recognised qualifications with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) are also eligible to apply.
A maximum of 30 students will be selected for the second intake of AIIP.
Benefits for Students
- Opportunity to obtain relevant work experience with prominent ACCA Approved Employers
- Work towards ACCA membership by completing PER requirements
- Opportunity to experience the Singapore working culture
Training Employment Pass
Students on the AIIP will need to apply for a Training Employment Pass (TEP), administered by the MOM. ACCA students who have completed the Fundamentals Level and the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting degree would meet these criteria. ACCA will help facilitate applications for all successful applicants for this pilot programme.

Timeline and Details
Applications will open on 18 June 2012. This will be publicised to all eligible ACCA students through direct emails from our participating tuition partners. ACCA will also promote the AIIP through information sessions to students at the tuition partners and designing targeted marketing collateral for the tuition partners.
ACCA will interview and short-list all interested students to identify suitably qualified candidates for the programme. Students who have fully attempted the last ACCA exams (June 2012) are encouraged to apply as this will reduce the necessity to convert back to a student pass if they have cleared the final exams (results out in August).
Candidates will be selected based on their academic achievements and will be interviewed to ensure that they have the right motivation and mindset for the programme.
A list of all short-listed candidates will be provided to employers for their selection. Shortlisted interns will submit their TEP applications to MOM and once approval is obtained, the internship will begin on 17 December 2012 and for no less than three months. Extensions will be on a case by case basis.
The internship programme will end by 30 April 2013 and interns who have not completed their exams will re-apply to the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) for their student passes to continue with their studies in June/July 2013. ACCA Singapore will continue to facilitate in this process.
