ACCA Singapore organizes inaugural CFO Summit 2012
The inaugural ACCA Singapore CFO Summit 2012 was held on Tuesday, 10 January 2012 and attended by over 100 CFOs and senior finance professionals from across the finance, accounting and business industries. The Summit addressed how the increasingly bearish and pessimistic economy will impact the finance department and how skills sets should be transformed to meet the challenges.
One of the key highlights of the Summit was a panel discussion, moderated by Mr Dominique Loh, Producer/Presenter of Channel NewsAsia, that explored in detail how the finance function could be transformed and scaled to meet the challenges ahead.
ACCA Singapore & CSR Asia Roundtable: Integrated reporting here to stay despite the challenges
The high-level roundtable discussion on Integrated Reporting: The Future of Corporate Accounting? was organised by ACCA and moderated by CSR Asia Singapore. Panelists included representatives from ACCA, Responsible Research, SGX, Ernst & Young, PowerSeraya, Arisaig Partners, KPMG, and the Nanyang Business School.
In addition to exploring the question of whether Asian companies are ready for integrated reporting, the panelists also discussed the challenge to come up with non-financial indicators and find ways to quantify these qualitative factors. It was also agreed that it would take more than three years for integrated reporting to be firmly established in Asia, and that integrated reporting is here to stay despite the challenges involved.
