14 August 2008 “Summer parties”, Chisinau

Almost 250 ACCA members and students gathered at the beginning of August to celebrate summer in Bucharest, Sofia and Chisinau – the capital cities of Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova – three countries where the ACCA Qualification is very much in demand. A highly anticipated set of events, the ACCA Summer Parties allow members and students to meet and network in a more informal manner.

The theme of this year’s summer parties was ‘cinema night’ and for all three parties the movie Rogue trader was projected on a large screen. The idea was enthusiastically received by attendants as they found that the script of the movie - based on a true story of the man who bankrupted the oldest commercial bank in London, Barings Bank - was an interesting presentation on professionalism and ethics.
