Regional seminar IFRS for SMEs

On 22nd of November 2007 38 ACCA members and 73 professionals in the SME field (from Romania ) attended the regional seminar jointly organised in Bucharest by ACCA and South-eastern European Partnership on Accountancy Development (SEEPAD) with the theme "IFRS for SMEs: A South-eastern European Outlook". The Seminar was organised with  the aim to answer the following questions: What is the current situation, what are the general opinions regarding the IFRS for SMEs standard and moreover what will the future bring for our region? The Romanian Minister for SMEs Ovidiu Silaghi opened the conference with a speech; the main lecturer was Richard Martin, ACCA Head of Financial Reporting with contribution from representatives of accountancy professions in the South Eastern European region.
