ACCA Pakistan Study Trip to Millat Tractors Limited
30 ACCA and CAT students along with 2 staff members from ACCA Pakistan Lahore office reached Millat Tractors at about 10:30 where we were welcomed by Mr. Khalid Sandhu (Senior Manager Marketing) and Mr. Zulfiqar Elahi (Senior Manager - Human Resource).
Initially all the students were taken to the auditorium where they were given a briefing on the background and different operations of Millat Tractors by Mr. Zulfiqar. Following this, all the students were given annual report of Millat Tractors along with Millat tractors calendar.
Mr. Khalid Sandhu took all students on the visit to their factory starting from their Marketing department. We were told that how marketing department supports the organization in bringing in more customers and how MTL makes different machines to cater the needs of different markets.
Within this time the students asked different questions and showed interest in Millat Tractors operations. Mr. Khalid Sandhu was very cooperative and answered all the questions raised by the students.
The students were shown the great work done by the Research and Development Department of MTL through different areas where they had displayed all the components of the tractors. Mr. Khalid also briefly discussed the importance of few major components. The students were amazed to know that how different components were used in a tractors, even a small bold has lot of value for the working of a good and efficient tractor.
The students were then taken to the dining area where refreshments were served to all the participants.
Mr. Khalid Sandhu also showed the engine and machinery manufacturing units and the assembly line. Students were told about the different production stages. He explained how important it is for the accountants to be familiar with each production stages.
He showed and explained us the whole process of production; from screening to painting, heat treatment to the final product. He also explained how the final product is thoroughly checked for errors by the relevant departments before being delivered to the customer.
The students then had a group photograph with the MTL Director Finance, Mr. Zulfiqar Elahi and Mr. Khalid Sandhu and appreciated the work done by MTL in the
