ACCA-WWF Pakistan environmental reporting awards

Prime Minister, Mr. Shaukat Aziz, supports ACCA-WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting Awards

The ACCA-WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting Awards (PERA) were launched in 2001. In recent years the awards have demonstrated their growing influence as the scheme is endorsed by the Ministry of Environment and the Global Compact Foundation Pakistan .

The aims of the awards are to give recognition to those organisations which report and disclose environmental information, encourage the uptake of environmental reporting and to raise awareness in corporate transparency issues. At the core of the judging criteria are completeness, credibility and communication. The Award winners demonstrate that, by emphasising these key elements, companies can target significant improvements in the quality of information disclosed during the reporting process. Ultimately, the Awards help underline the business case for sustainable practices and development.

In 2005 the winners were Tetrapak in the category of Best Multi-national company report, Pakistan Refinery Ltd. in the category of Best Local (Listed) company report and Engro Asahi in the category of Best Local (Unlisted) Company Report.
