ACCA Pakistan members engagement initiatives

ACCA Pakistan encourages its members to undertake the following initiatives:

  • Writing articles 
  • Conducting research projects
  • Conducting workshops 
  • Appearing on television as ACCA spokesperson 

The policy for each of the above initiatives is as following:

Policy for writing articles

ACCA Pakistan encourages its members to write articles on topics relevant to accounting and business community. These articles may be published in ACCA and non-ACCA publications. The final decision about where the article is to be published is of ACCA Pakistan .

Those members who are interested in writing articles must send an expression of interest for writing an article at the following address:

The expression of interest should clearly outline the following:

  • Title of the article
  • Abstract of the article (not more than 300 words and not less than 150 words)
  • Expected number of words of the article
  • Date of submission 

Based on the above information in the expression of interest, ACCA Pakistan will make a decision about whether the article will be considered for publication in ACCA or non-ACCA publication. ACCA Pakistan reserves the right to require additional information about the article before making a final decision.

The financial remuneration for writing articles is as following:

Features

We can sign contract with the writers who will write a series of articles on a constant basis for all the issues in the year. Producing a section of features will give a more stable look to the publication. The rates can vary from Rs.30,000 to Rs.40,000 per annum.

ACCA reserves the right to refuse/reject any article. The fee shall become payable only after ACCA accepts the expression of interest for article writing submitted by the member. In case ACCA does not accept the expression of interest, it shall be under no obligation to pay the writer.

No payment for any study material for writing the article shall be made, as it is assumed that the writer is well versed in the subject and already possesses the required knowledge.

The writer must send a soft copy of the article (in word format).

The article must be the original work of the writer. A declaration shall be signed by the author in this regard. In case, the article is found to be a copy of someone else's work, ACCA reserves the write to demand all the amounts back from author including any damages caused to ACCA in course of publishing the article.

A contract stating all terms and conditions shall be signed between ACCA and the writer.

After signing, the contract shall become binding on both parties.

Conducting research projects

ACCA Pakistan will occasionally issue calls for research proposals. These calls for research proposals will relate to different research topics. Members will be sent the call for research proposals via email.

Conducting workshops

ACCA Pakistan encourages members to conduct workshops in following areas:

  • SMEs
  • Corporate Governance 
  • Professional Development 

The policy for conducting workshops is as follows:

Those members who are interested in conducting workshops must send an expression of interest for conducting a workshop at the following address:

  • Draft presentation
  • Draft reading material to be used
  • Method of delivery of the workshop
  • Date of workshop

ACCA Pakistan reserves the right to make a final decision about the rate to be paid to the workshop leader and acceptance of the workshop after reviewing the expression of interest. ACCA Pakistan may also ask for additional information before making a final decision about the workshop.

A formal contract will be signed with the workshop leader specifying the administrative arrangements as well as copyright declaration to be signed by the workshop leader.

Appearing on television as ACCA spokesperson

Members may be occasionally requested by ACCA Pakistan to appear on television as ACCA's spokesperson. In case of a member being asked to appear on television as ACCA's spokesperson, the members will be asked to sign a code of practice.
