How to apply

Applications for Gold approval are invited from tuition providers who demonstrate that they meet all the Gold performance targets.

If you believe your institution is ready to apply for Gold approval, the first step is make an initial enquiry initial enquiry - opens in a new window online.  You will be asked for full details of your institution and the courses provided together with contact details for a staff member that ACCA can contact by telephone to discuss your institution's eligibility to apply.

Usernames and passwords for myACCA, where the online application system will be available, will be issued automatically upon confirmation of your institution's eligibility to apply for Gold approval. Paper-based copies of the application form are also available upon request.

In your application, you will be asked to declare that to the best of your knowledge your institution meets each of the performance targets, and to detail the ways in which you are able to demonstrate this.

You will be required to submit with your application any documentation that can be used to demonstrate that each of these performance targets is met.

A non-refundable application fee of £50 is payable with the application. When the fee has been received, your institution's details will be displayed on the ACCA Tuition Provider Directory, if an entry does not already exist.

Before making an application to become an Approved Learning Partner - Student Tuition, you should consider carefully whether your institution meets the performance targets outlined in the performance assessment matrix. If there are any targets that you cannot meet at this time, we ask that you delay your application until you are confident that you can meet all the targets.

Exemption from performance targets

ACCA will consider exemption from some elements within the performance assessment matrix where a tuition provider has already been assessed and approved against these elements by another regulatory body, or where the tuition provider belongs to a group of providers who take a standard approach to certain elements, such as course materials. In the first instance you should contact the Student Support department to discuss whether the accreditation held will be satisfactory for exemption.

Gold pre-approval review and visit

Once your application is complete and the fee has been received, a desk based pre-approval review will be carried out followed by a pre-approval visit arranged by an ACCA representative. Before the visit, you will receive an information pack explaining what will happen at the visit, and what you should do to prepare for it.
