ACCA appoints Asia Pacific Regional Director
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has today announced the appointment of Tan Jee Say as its new Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region, one of its largest and most rapidly growing markets.
Tan Jee Say, 51, who lives in Singapore, will be directly responsible for developing new and existing markets in the region where ACCA has over 32, 000 members and over 68, 000 students in 13 countries. He will co-ordinate the work of ACCA's offices in Australia, Cambodia, Greater China(including Hong Kong), Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam as well as additional offices to be opened in due course in other markets of the region. He will also represent ACCA at a regional level.
He has considerable experience of working for multi-national companies in the Asia Pacific region, having been the Partner/CEO for Asia of a global business training company, Asian regional managing director for Govett Asset Management and regional managing director/director of three multinational banks including Morgan Grenfell Asia, Peregrine Capital Singapore and Standard Chartered Bank. He also had many years of working experience in the Singapore Government Administrative Service where he served in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and as Principal Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister.
Jee Say, who speaks Mandarin Chinese and English, has an MA in Economics and Politics from Oxford University along with considerable experience of the region's commercial and professional environment.
