We are delighted to invite you to our St David’s Day Eve lunch, with guest speakers Robert Lloyd Griffiths, Director – IoD Wales & Chair Business Wales and Dafydd Hardy, Owner of Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents. The topic is “Supporting Business in Wales.” This event is in association with The Management Centre, CMI & ACCA Cymru Wales.
Robert Lloyd Griffiths has been the Director of the Institute of Directors, Wales, since 2009. In this role, he is responsible for representing the interests of members in Wales; the implementation IoD policies, standards and initiatives; the promotion of the profile of the IoD; engagement with business across Wales; developing and maintaining productive relationships with Government, academia, the media and other key stakeholders.
He chaired the Welsh Government’s Micro Business Task and Finish Group and now chairs the Welsh Government’s Strategic Board overseeing Business Support in Wales. He is also a member of The Secretary of State for Wales’ Business Advisory Group and also chairs a number of Welsh Government review bodies. He is on the Board of Leadership and Management Wales and is involved with and holds trustee/board positions with a variety of Welsh charities including Arts and Business Cymru Wales and The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales. Robert is also the Wales Autism Employment Ambassador, raising the profile of those with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) in the work place, and highlighting the benefits that businesses can achieve by employing those with ASD.
Dafydd Hardy is a partner in Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents, a major chain of award winning estate agents across North West Wales. He will speak on the use of Welsh in business. His company actively supports bilingualism through various measures and has won the small business Welsh at Work 2011 Award. He believes that being able to deal with customers in both languages reinforces the firm’s values and roots.
