CPD Event. Audit Perspective (Vilnius. Lithuania)

ACCA members are invited to the event which will take place in the Conference Hall "Simfonija" of Radisson Blu Astorija Hotel, Vilnius on the 6th of March, 2013 from 9.30 to 12.30. The event is organized jointly by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and BDO Lithuania.

The event will touch the issues of financial regulation, new reporting models and sustainability awareness in the Baltic Region.

Issues of corporate sustainability, reporting standard development and refinement of environmental accounting are key priorities for the ACCA thought leadership program. In his presentation Henning will touch upon the following issues:

• “Beyond financial stability – the critical role of non-financial factors for global sustainability” - links between economic, social and environmental challenges, assessment of the Rio+20 outcomes, latest sustainability nuggets (short) and  highlight on Integrated Reporting as a material contribution for capturing all corporate impacts
• “Lithuanian sustainability challenges and opportunities for accountants” - the latest on EU legislation; Lithuanian initiatives and expanding quality accounting skills can play a key role a sustainable, competitive advantage for Lithuanian companies

Please find below the bio of Henning Dräger:

As CSO Henning is responsible for providing sustainability solutions for Ukrainian businesses including carbon management, energy efficiency plans, renewable energy investment, sustainability KPIs, performance benchmarks, audit of non-financial reports and corporate governance structuring pre- and post IPO. Henning is a frequent speaker at sustainability and CSR events, has appeared on Ukrainian INTER TV and has a monthly column in "Ekonomicheskiye Izvestiya". He is also representing the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC) in Ukraine, Russia, Baltic States, Scandinavia, and the Caucasus region.

As Director of Sustainability for the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Henning was responsible for tracking, distilling and communicating relevant legislative and policy developments within the global sustainability arena to ACCA members and stakeholders. He was also overseeing ACCA’s environmental indicator research and data verification and managed the production of ACCA’s first ever CSR report to be published in late 2010. His work was aimed at further strengthening ACCA’s sustainability and CSR thought leadership putting professional accountants at the heart of the solution to global sustainability challenges.

Henning’s previous positions include Sustainability Advisor to Friends of the Earth’s executive director Tony Juniper, one of the leading global environmental campaigners of the last 30 years according to ENDS Report. As WWF’s Head of Corporate Campaigns he was responsible for securing corporate funding for WWF’s global priority programmes including climate change, deforestation and toxic chemicals. Henning Dräger also worked as Senior Sustainability Risk Analyst for Goldman Sachs in London, responsible for the environmental component of the triple bottom line reporting across European markets.

Henning Dräger studied Ecology (MSc Strathclyde University Glasgow), Environmental and Natural Resources Management (MBA University of Washington, Seattle), Environmental Economics and Statistics (Joint MSc Copenhagen Business School and Stockholm Business School) and Economics (BSc The Aarhus School of Business, Denmark).
