• Overview of the impact of New UK GAAP, including the key accounting differences from old UK GAAP, choices and decisions to be made and the key issues to consider in planning for a conversions.
• Overview of the recent changes to IFRS.
• Update on the major projects being undertaken by the IASB, including revenue recognition and lease accounting.
Andrew Mead is an independent consultant specialising in accounting advice, financial reporting and GAAP conversions. His clients currently include commercial companies as well as organisations in the education sector. Previously Andrew was an Audit Director at KPMG where he was responsible for the audit of a mixed portfolio of large international companies, growing owner managed business, as well as clients in the education, charity and pension sectors. He also spent time within KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services team where he worked on providing solutions to complex accounting problems and assisted clients with GAAP conversions. He is experienced in IFRS and UK GAAP. Andrew is also an experience presenter and has delivered financial reporting training to many organisations in the UK and overseas. He also developed and led KPMG’s technical update seminar program across the South East over 10 years.
