Bank of England: an overview of the economy

Event: Bank of England: an overview of the economy

CIMAJoint with CIMA & CISI (The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment)

Join us to hear a Bank of England representative from the Bank's Yorkshire and The Humber Agency, give an overview of the economy.

CIMAThe Bank of England sets the key short-term interest rate for the UK economy. To help it set the appropriate rate it has a small team in every region of the UK, gathering information. These agencies are the bank's eyes and ears and an important channel of communication between Threadneedle Street, businesses and the general public.

This presentation will cover the bank's most recent assessment of the economy and the factors that impact upon it. These include international and UK demand, the labour market and inflationary pressure.
