FREE EVENT - An ageing society - are we ready?
|Event:||FREE EVENT - An ageing society - are we ready?|
Speakers - Lord Filkin of Pimlico, Chair of the Committee on Public Service and Demographic Change, Prof. Sarah Harper, Director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing and Richard Harbord, Leader of Boston Borough Council
Outline - Between 2010 and 2030 the number of people aged over 65 will increase by 51%. With the government being accused of being "woefully underprepared" for this issue, it's time to face up to the reality and look at the bigger picture of an ageing population and how we are going to provide the support and services to make a longer life the "gift" it should be. This distinguished panel will give an overview of the situation and explore the practicalities involved, with time for questions from the floor.
