Technical Seminar on New IPO Sponsor Regime: What reporting accountants need to know
|Event:||Technical Seminar on New IPO Sponsor Regime: What reporting accountants need to know|
Following concerns by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) over the quality of due diligence being conducted on initial public offerings (IPOs), the new regulatory regime for IPO sponsors has been implemented with the effective date of 1 October 2013. Among other changes, new sponsor regulations have been introduced to tighten the obligations of sponsors in respect of their due diligence and the quality of disclosure in draft listing documents submitted to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE). While the new rules are primarily related to the due diligence and undertakings by the sponsors, there are also a series of changes that affect the work of reporting accountants involved in the IPO.
