Managing Human Capital Conference
The personnel policy of an organization could be very unpopular and disincentive for high performance employees in the economic downturn. HR and especially continual professional development and other development opportunities are the main areas examined besides marketing. Therefore at the fifth annual ACCA global series conference Managing Human Capital the topic mainly discussed was how to retain high performance professionals even in the economic downturn.
The conference was held in Prague on 2 April 2009 at PwC Business Academy and was attended by about 100 senior financial specialists and HR managers. Speakers from both the Czech Republic and Great Britain agreed that irrespective cost cuts in training and developments needs for managers are one of the reasons of demotivating environment in organizations.
All speakers agreed during the conference that coaching and mentoring are particularly the most powerful tools of continual professional development. “Those tools have enough potential to keep the high performers in the companies”, said Katka Benešová ACCA’s Head of Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
