Polish Institute of Directors serves to the stock exchange market in Poland, and aspires to become its intellectual background. PID participants are institutions and persons interested in promotion of corporate governance standards on the Polish market. PID is a member of ECOD, the European Confederation of Directors' Association, based in Brussels.
The memorandum covers a wide and quite specific sphere in which PID and ACCA will be cooperating until the end of 2010. In particular, the key spheres of cooperation are:
• ACCA and PID will develop list of candidate members for audit committees in Poland, and will promote it in media. Members of ACCA and PID will be able to participate in qualification process to enter the list, via the specially established independent Qualification Team
• ACCA and PID will jointly draft “Good practices of audit committee”
• ACCA and PID will contribute jointly to development of good practices of Corporate Governance in Poland
• Members of ACCA and PID will have equal access to each other’s events, such as seminars, trainings, conferences, and also possibility to participate in conducting joint events. ACCA and PID will create networking possibilities of their members.
We would highly encourage ACCA members in Poland to apply for candidate members of audit committees, and to get actively involved in joint ACCA-PID activities.
