Partnership with AG Dept & UiTM
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the Accountant General's Department, Ministry of Finance and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) have entered into a mutually benefitting partnership that will see staff in the Accountant General’s Department provided with an ACCA Qualification and continuous professional development courses.
The partnership agreement was signed at a private ceremony held recently by Datuk Wan Selamah binti Wan Sulaiman, Accountant General on behalf of the Accountant General's Department; Helen Brand, ACCA chief executive on behalf of ACCA; and Professor Dr Rozainun Abdul Aziz, Accountancy Faculty Dean on behalf of UiTM.
The three reputable institutions have joined forces to work together on strengthening and maximising resources to enhance accountancy knowledge development and skills. With this partnership, a pathway has been established for staff in the Accountant General’s Department to take up the ACCA Qualification or Foundations in Accountancy, or both programmes from ACCA.
Tuition will be held at UiTM, an ACCA approved learning partner – Platinum status. Platinum is the highest and most prestigious level of approval granted by ACCA to learning partners around the world, and is granted only upon fulfilling stringent performance indicators such as pass rates and student support services.
ACCA in turn will render its support and guidance in providing relevant continuous professional development (CPD) requirements for staff at the Accountant General's Department.
