Employers Appreciation Luncheon
ACCA held an Employers Appreciation Luncheon on 23 May 2011 in conjunction with visit by ACCA chief executive, Helen Brand. In her welcoming remarks, Brand announced ACCA's 2011-2012 global statics. ACCA family has now grown to 147,000 members, compared with 140,000 announced last year while its student base reached 424,000 compared with 404,000 this time last year.
Brand also announced that ACCA now has over 8,500 Approved Employers in over 100 countries and that ACCA has been rated as the leading global professional accountancy body in reputation, influence and size by employers around the world more frequently than any other professional accountancy body.
Brand stressed that such successes cannot be achieved in isolation and thanked employers for playing a large part in helping ACCA to grow and succeed.
'ACCA has achieved this success because of its working relationships with employers around the world, and indeed here in Malaysia. This shows that employers continue to value the ACCA qualification. It also shows employers own commitment to quality training for their employees – who are of course ACCA students and ACCA members', asserts Brand.
The event also saw 14 companies receiving their Approved Employers certificates, namely, Amcorp Group Berhad, Bursa Malaysia, CIMB, Deloitte, Genting, Hong Leong Assurance, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Maybank, MISC, OCBC, Prokhas, Schlumberger Business Support Hub, SJ Grant Thornton and Telekom.
