ACCA MIA Forum
ACCA and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants coorganised a forum on the revised auditing standards at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 11 March.
The aim of the forum, Revised Auditing Standards: Implication to Business and Role of the External Auditors, was to create awareness among business owners, public practitioners, preparers
and users of financial reports on the implications arising from the clarified International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
The forum also discussed how these revisions can add value to the financial operations of a company as a whole.
Panelists include Lee Tuck Heng, senior partner at PwC Malaysia; Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff, executive chairman of the Audit Oversight Board; Mohamed Raslan Abdul Rahman, managing partner at KPMG in Malaysia; Muhamad Ibrahim, CEO of Federation of Public Listed Companies; Jason Sia Sze Wan,FCCA and ACCA Public Practice Committee Member; and Dr Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan, lecturer at the University of Malaya; while presentation was by Thong Foo Vung, partner at KPMG in Malaysia.
