ACCA Malaysia appoints new head

Jennifer Lopez to lead in competitive market

04 Dec 2009

ACCA Malaysia has appointed Jennifer Lopez as its new country head, which will see her directly responsible for sustaining ACCA's reputation and market leadership in one of the most important and competitive markets.

Previously the head of professional development at ACCA Malaysia, Jennifer joined ACCA in 2004 and, since then, has led training programmes on international financial reporting standards, international standards on auditing and corporate governance and ethics. Prior to joining ACCA, she was employed at PwC Malaysia, working with a wide range of Malaysian and multinational clients on audit and business advisory assignments.

'I am truly honoured to be appointed country head of ACCA Malaysia and look forward to working closely with leading players within the accountancy profession in Malaysia for the development and benefit of the accounting profession, ACCA and our diverse stakeholders,' said Jennifer.

'It has been inspiring to see how ACCA has played a key role in transforming the lives of many individuals who have taken the ACCA Qualification as a stepping stone to their successful career pathway. I truly believe that ACCA and its members have a pivotal and positive role to play in the economic and social landscape of corporate Malaysia.

'We are committed to ensure that ACCA continues to be the qualification of choice among professionals and employers.'

Commenting on the appointment, Tay Kay Luan, ACCA director - ASEAN and Australasia, said: 'We are delighted to appoint a worthy successor from within the organisation. I am confident Jennifer will steer ACCA Malaysia to even greater success under her leadership.'
