ACCA Caribbean signs Memorandum of Understanding

New agreement to provide further support to SMEs

19 Oct 2009

ACCA Caribbean has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Barbados Small Business Association (BBSA) that will see the two bodies work together to provide enhanced support to the SME sector in the region.

At the signing, which took place on 8 October, Brenda Lee Tang, ACCA Caribbean head of corporate development, said that the MoU signified ACCA's pledge to its membership, and further underlined the important role SMEs play in supporting the economy and its eventual recovery.

Celeste Foster, BBSA president, added that the agreement would bring greater professionalism and accounting rigour to the SME sector, and that she hoped it would contribute to an effective - and less burdensome - framework catered to small businesses.
