The opening ceremony, which took place at the Shangri-la Hotel Chengdu on 2 June, featured guests including Steven Smith, acting consul general of the British Consulate General in Chongqing, Laurie Gillow, ACCA executive director - markets, and May Law, ACCA's China director.
The new office, which is based in the Chengdu City Tower, will work closely with ACCA Shanghai to provide services not only to ACCA students and members, but also to employers and tuition providers in the region.
'We are delighted to be able to officially open our fifth mainland office in Chengdu,' said May Law. 'There are now more than 20,000 ACCA members and 32,000 students in China, and the opening of this office enables us to provide additional services to a rapidly growing region.
'We will also be working with many partner bodies and with many other excellent organisations to develop the profession and opportunities for people of ability not just in Chengdu, but in every region.'
