Latest ACCA exam results out now

Students receive results from June 2007 exam sitting

20 Aug 2007

A record number of ACCA candidates - 154,716 - sat ACCA exams in June 2007, taking 344,007 papers at 342 exam centres in 133 countries around the world.

Candidates came from a wide variety of working backgrounds – with the majority working in the corporate sector, followed by public practice and the public sector. And over 6,000 students successfully completed all their professional examinations to achieve affiliate status of the global accountancy body – the largest number of students ever to achieve this standing.

June 2007 was also the last sitting of ACCA’s old professional examination, which is being replaced in December 2007 by the new ACCA Qualification with its fresh focus on professionalism and ethics. Results for these qualifications will be announced in February 2008.

Clare Minchington, ACCA’s managing director of education, learning and development, said: 'The numbers of students gaining affiliate status is extremely heartening and we hope to see this grow further in the future. Yet again, these results show solid performance, with excellent percentage pass rates not only in a traditional examination such as the Business Taxation paper at 60 per cent but also in the Strategic Business Planning and Development paper at 55 per cent, surely a sign that candidates are getting to grips with the vital issues for 21st century accountants.'
