Establishing a coaching culture in your organisation

New webcast offers tips on how to succeed

17 Apr 2009

ACCA has launched a new webcast that is required viewing for those interested in building a strategy to embed a coaching culture in an organisation, or wanting to know which factors should be taken into account when measuring the benefits.

The webcast explores the recent findings of specially commissioned ACCA research, which suggested that coaching and mentoring is being poorly practised across the finance and accountancy profession - ultimately leading to poor returns on training investment.

A survey of 700 ACCA members across 170 countries revealed that while most organisations believe in coaching and mentoring, for the majority it is an aspiration - not a reality.

The webcast considers:

  • what is generally understood by coaching and mentoring processes
  • if there is anything unique about the finance profession that lends itself to such development processes
  • what are the objectives of coaching and mentoring and what is the business case
  • how widely these processes are being practised, and specifically how well they are performed.
